IL-Sao Paulo Partners & Brazil in Chicago to Host Summer Members Bash

Summer wouldn’t be summer without the annual IL-Sao Paulo Partners of the Americas Summer Barbecue on August 14, 2011.  This year’s event will be double the fun as the Chapter hosts the first joint members event with Brazil in Chicago and the new Casa de Cultura Brasileira.

The event will take place from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Brazil in Chicago’s headquarters at 2212 W. Sunnyside (in Chicago, 60625, for your GPS or Mapquest).

“Brazil in Chicago is a perfect partner,” said Deanna Shoss, the 2011 President for the Illinois-Sao Paulo Chapter of Partners of the Americas.  “We both are committed to promoting mutual understanding and sharing best practices between the people of Illinois and Brazil, whether it’s with the exchange of ideas and professionals between the two countries as Partners does, or showcasing Brazilian culture here in Chicago, which noone does better than Brazil in Chicago.”

“We are a center of Brazilian cultural exchange and Portuguese language instruction,” said Brazil in Chicago Founder and President Marcelo Jarmendia.  This is a great partnership for us, especially as we look to grow awareness around the many aspects and depths of Brazilian culture and the contributions of Brazilians to the US culture.”

The party will truly be a US/Brazilian exchange, with Pizza, Coxinhas (delicious, doughy, chicken filled appetizers); plus many home made salads and dishes provided by guests who are invited to bring a dish to share with others.
