Bruno Esslinger de Britto Costa is a geographer and musician visiting Chicago. He will give us a special presentation on his thesis from Universidade de Sao Paulo, entitled: The Cultural Geography of Southern Sao Paulo Coast: Nature, Folk Music and the Storyteller.

His research analyzes the modernization of Brazilian territory throughout music and its origins within traditional communities and their relation to natural ecosystems in the region. His presentation will be extremely informative to us as a chapter concerned about the critical survival issues facing Brazilian people living in rural areas and their culture.

All are welcome!  Please plan to arrive to our meeting around 11 am (business meeting starts at 10 am) to School of the Art Institute of Chicago at 37 S. Wabash, 8th Floor Conference Room.  You will need a picture ID at the ground floor security desk.  The conference room is to the left and at the end of the hallway on the 8th Floor.
